My project Mother Goddess: Theater of Illusions starring Emma Lyness and Lee Adams is an experimental music video about a theater-dreamscape full of giant puppets, clown entities and a plum colored jacket. I pull inspiration from personal experience, dreams, interpersonal relationships and surreal cinema. Some of the main visual and conceptual inspirations come from directors like David Lynch and Alejandro Jodorowsky.

Emma Lyness chases after a clown entity (Lee Adams) that has stolen their favorite plum jacket. All the while a giant puppet named Mr. Moneybags puts on a performance for an empty theater. A bittersweet tale about love, nostalgia, loss, and the sensations that arise in between.

Featuring music from Emma Lyness’s album Legumes

My current goal is to raise $5,000 in order to fund this project. The funds raised will be used for things like camera rentals and crafty meals, but will primarily be used to pay my small crew for their work! This is a community based project that is mostly made up of LGBTQ+ folks! I hope to not only bring my idea into fruition, but to uplift local artists and promote their work. I aspire to provide an opportunity for local filmmakers typically underrepresented within the film community the opportunity to work on a set and get paid for their talents! By donating to our project you are helping us build a diverse film community here in Seattle, WA.
